Last updated on April 23rd, 2023 at 04:41 pm

Over the years I’ve had some great BBQ. Some I created myself, some I borrowed and some I took a really good recipe and made it a grill and chill favorite.

Here are my top 5 delicious BBQ grill recipes that I think you will enjoy. Grill recipes can be very easy to make, and often require minimal preparation and cooking time. With just a few ingredients and some basic grilling techniques, you can create delicious and flavorful meals that are perfect for any occasion.

When we grill, we seriously want something simple and easy. All of these recipes take less than 30 minutes to prep and cook. For recipes that need to be marinated, give yourself an extra 30 minutes to an hour to prepare. Grill and chill is all about taking it easy. So when it comes to BBQ that means cooking outdoors and firing up the grill. All you need is a handful of tried and true grill recipes you can rely on. That’s where my favorite grill picks come in.

BBQ chicken recipe: Marinate chicken in a mixture of BBQ sauce, garlic, and spices, then grill until cooked through and slightly charred.

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in chicken breasts, skin on
  • 1 cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of paprika
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

Instructions:

  2. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  3. Pat the chicken breasts dry with a paper towel and brush both sides with the BBQ sauce mixture.
  4. Place the chicken breasts on the grill, skin side down, and cook for 5-6 minutes until the skin is crispy and browned.
  5. Flip the chicken breasts over and brush with more BBQ sauce. Cook for an additional 5-6 minutes until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).
  6. Remove the chicken from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Serve with your favorite sides, such as coleslaw or grilled vegetables. Enjoy your delicious BBQ chicken!

Grilled corn on the cob recipes: Brush corn with butter and sprinkle with salt and pepper, then grill until lightly charred.

Ingredients:

  • 4 ears of fresh corn, husks and silk removed
  • 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Brush the corn with the melted butter, making sure to coat each ear evenly.
  3. Season the corn with salt and black pepper to taste.
  4. Place the corn directly on the grill and cook, turning occasionally, for 10-12 minutes or until the kernels are lightly charred and tender.
  5. Remove the corn from the grill and let cool for a few minutes.
  6. Serve the corn on a platter and enjoy!

You can also try adding some other seasonings to your grilled corn, such as chili powder, garlic powder, or grated Parmesan cheese for some extra flavor.

Grilled steak recipes: Season steak with salt and pepper, then grill to desired doneness.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 lbs of ribeye or sirloin steak
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, olive oil, honey, red wine vinegar, minced garlic, smoked paprika, and black pepper to create the marinade.
  2. Place the steak in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish, and pour the marinade over the steak. Ensure the steak is fully coated.
  3. Marinate the steak in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or up to 8 hours for a more intense flavor.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the remaining marinade.
  6. Grill the steak for about 5-6 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.
  7. Remove the steak from the grill and allow it to rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Serve the steak sliced against the grain and enjoy! The temperature of a grilled steak will vary depending on how well-done you prefer your steak. To check the temperature of your steak, use a meat thermometer inserted into the thickest part of the steak. Be sure not to touch any bones or the grill grates, as this can give an inaccurate reading. Allow the steak to rest for a few minutes after cooking to allow the juices to redistribute before slicing and serving.

Here are the recommended internal temperatures from rare to well done.

  • Rare: 120-130°F (49-54°C)
  • Medium-rare: 130-135°F (54-57°C)
  • Medium: 135-145°F (57-63°C)
  • Medium-well: 145-155°F (63-68°C)
  • Well-done: 155°F and above (68°C and above)

Grilling Recipes Take A Little Practice

Grilling can be quite easy with a little practice and preparation. Here are some tips to make grilling easier:

  1. Preheat the grill: Make sure to preheat your grill to the appropriate temperature before adding your food. This will help to ensure even cooking and prevent sticking.
  2. Clean the grill grates: Clean the grill grates with a wire brush to remove any debris or leftover food particles from previous grilling sessions. This will help to prevent sticking and ensure your food cooks evenly.
  3. Oil the grill grates: Use a paper towel or brush to lightly oil the grill grates before adding your food. This will help to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  4. Use a meat thermometer: Invest in a good quality meat thermometer to help you accurately determine when your food is fully cooked. This will help prevent overcooking or undercooking your food.
  5. Don’t overcrowd the grill: Make sure to leave enough space between your food items to allow for even cooking and to prevent sticking.
  6. Let your food rest: After grilling, let your food rest for a few minutes to allow the juices to redistribute. This will help to keep your food moist and tender.

Proven Tips To Be A Great Griller

With these tips in mind, you should be able to grill your food with ease and confidence. Becoming a great griller is a lifelong pursuit and requires a lot of practice, experimentation, and learning. While there is no set timeline for becoming a grill and chill master can take several years to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to consistently produce delicious grilled food.
